In Remembrance of Rick Berry (Troop 890 / WBCXII -  Buffalo)

It’s with a heaRick Berry1vy heart that I pass along the news of Rick Berry’s passing.  Rick was a Buffalo on WBCXII, and he attended both weekends of our course while taking chemo to fight cancer.  Now, he no longer struggles with the pain. Those of you who knew him will remember the grace and strength he displayed on our course, those who didn’t will only remember him as another participant because he was so good at keeping his personal battles to himself and encouraging the rest of us with all he had.

Rick told us all at Participant Orientation that Hell must have frozen over because he always said he would take Wood Badge as soon as Hell freezes over.  Well, Heaven just gained the warmest heart there ever was!

Rick understood and gave the Gift of Leadership with all his heart - I’m proud that we could claim a small piece of his bucket list we know as Wood Badge CXII.

Our amazing Troop Guides have teamed together to finish Rick’s ticket.  He will be beaded posthumously this spring
